SRHR advocacy

A Message from the Executive Director:

Expanding Our Impact — Embracing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

Dear Friends, Partners, and Supporters,

At Tuezuule Initiative, we have always believed in the power of knowledge, dignity, and opportunity—especially when placed in the hands of girls, women, and youth. Today, I’m proud to share a new chapter in our growing journey: we are officially expanding our focus to include Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Why SRHR?
Because we can no longer talk about empowerment without addressing the realities of sexual health, menstrual dignity, reproductive rights and access to accurate information. These are not just health issues—they are human rights issues.

Over the past two years, we’ve seen firsthand how young people in our communities, especially adolescent girls and young women, face barriers that limit their choices, their voice and their future. We are determined to change that.

Through our new SRHR programs, Tuezuule Initiative will:

  • Provide accurate, age-appropriate sexual and reproductive health education
  • Create safe spaces for open dialogue and mentorship
  • Promote menstrual health management and dignity
  • Advocate for youth-friendly SRHR services and policies
  • Empower boys and men to become allies in ending stigma and gender-based violence

This expansion is a natural evolution of our mission. It reflects the trust our communities place in us—and our deep commitment to helping every individual make informed, empowered choices about their bodies and lives.

We look forward to working hand-in-hand with local leaders, schools, health partners, and each of you to make SRHR a reality for all—especially in underserved and rural areas.

Thank you for walking this journey with us. The future is not only female—it is informed, empowered and inclusive.

In solidarity,

Ms. Mbajja Rukia
